I’m Back

Well, I have been away for awhile because I have not had the internet at my home. Things are going great and it seems as though life never slows down. I will try to keep this blog updated as much as I can.

The month of June was a busy month. Naomi attended summer school and she loved it. The first day was really hard on her as she clung to me and begged me to take her back home. I knew once she got to the classroom and met some of the other children that she would do fine. She is a very social little girl and by the time that summer school was over she knew kids in every grade. She also done a month of dance and she really loves it. She had her recital at the end of June and it was so cute. She will start dance again in August as well as start kindergarten on August 1st. We are still praying that Tami (Mrs. Wilson) will be her teacher.

We had a great 4th at the creek with all of our family. I love photography and I took a lot of photos. It is always a joy to be with family and friends again. The weekend after the 4th we were at my in-laws home to celebrate Madges birthday. I had a great time and I look forward to the annual gathering. I feel so young still and it makes me realize that I am getting older when I see how fast my nieces and nephew are growing up.

My kids are in VBS this week. They seem to be enjoying themselves and having a great time. I am doing the recreation part of VBS but I was unable to attend tonight as we just started a Womens Bible Study at our church. We are going through a book called, “A Womens Higher Calling” I am so glad that our small church is having a time to get together and study Gods Word as women. It is very uplifting.

I do need to get off here as it is late and I need to go to bed.

Whew!

Got up today and done some housework before leaving to go to Springfield with Granny and Madge. Naomi went along as I had told her that she would get to visit her Papa in the hospital. Timothy and Josiah stayed at home so that Timothy could go to town with his dad Tim to get some parts for his truck.

We arrived at the hospital and learned that Papa was still in CCU. I knew that meant that Naomi was probably not going get to see him and I sure did not want to break that news to her. As I was visiting with Papa the nurse came in and I asked her if his great grandaughter could come into see him. She said no and about that time Papa looked up at her and I thought he was going to say something. Before he could say anything the nurse changed her mind and said that she could come in as long as she was quite and I had to hold her and she could only stay a few moments. I left to get her and as I came back in Papa said “there’s my girl” and Naomi smiled as she said “hi” We sat there for a few moments and Papa talked to her telling her that he liked her new boots and how that he was doing good. Naomi seem comforted and more at ease by seeing him in such good spirits. Her visit was short and as we left she told him “bye” and blew him a big kiss. The smile that came across Papa’s face was priceless.

We left the hospital and met up with Larry, Margaret, Kelly, Randy, Terry, Trey, Rachelle, Jonathon and Caitlyn at a packed out Chick-fil-a. We had a wonderful time visiting and watching the kids play in the play area. Madge, Naomi and I left there to go to the mall. Naomi had her photo done at the Picture People last Tuesday but the machine was broke so instead of getting the photos back in a hour I had wait several days. As usual the photos were gorgeous! Naomi is very photogenic and takes beautiful pictures. After waiting for quite some time we headed down to another photo place. We made our appointment and then went to look for another shirt for Naomi. Now let me tell you something Naomi loves to shop and she is very opionated on things. She loves clothes and I think she loves shoes even more! After being in the store for what seemed forever we finally settled on a blue spaghetti strap shirt, a reversible hat, a bracelet and some super cute glittery sunglasses. She looked like a little girl that stepped out of a catologe! We had her photo done and she posed herself through some of the photos! Once we were finished we headed to Payless because I needed some shoes. We finally got out of the mall and back over to the hospital to pick up Granny. On the way home we stopped at Walmart to pick up some last minute goodies for Easter. Now hear I sit at mom and dads (my mother-in-law and father-in-law actually) and the children have finished doing their easter egg decorating and they are waiting for the Jello to settle so that they can do their jigglers. Mom has been finishing up my dress that she made me for Easter and she done a wonderful job!

A 5 Year Olds Prayer

Life has been a little hectic the past few days. Our Papa has been hospitalized and I have stayed with Granny. I was there all day Wednesday and spent the night. The same thing for Thursday. I came home on Friday evening. I spent my days cleaning and taking care of Robert and David while Granny was with Papa. On Thursday evening I went in to pray with Naomi. I spoke with her about her Papa and the possibility that he might lose his leg because his foot was not getting any blood to it. She wrapped her little arms tightly around my neck and buried her in head on my shoulder as she began to weep. I explained that we needed to pray for Papa and ask God for a miracle. As I prayed we asked God to open his veins and allow the blood to flow to Papas foot.  Naomi still cryed as she was was worried about her Papa, she eventually calmed down as reassured her that her Papa was going to come home and that we would go to see him at the hospital. Friday brought the great news that his leg was getting more circulation and he was doing better. God is still in the miracle business and I count it a blessing that our little girl gets to see God work in her Papa’s life!
